Bluefin wins 2009 Citywire New Model Adviser award for the Welsh region
Bluefin Wealth Management, part of the recently rebranded Bluefin Advisory Services Limited has won the prestigious 2009 award for the Welsh region Adviser of the Year at the recent Citywire New Model Awards. The awards are designed to honour one firm in each of eight regions around the country that has made the biggest strides in terms of the quality of advice and service it offers.
Marlene Shalton and Julie Lord, collected the award on behalf of Bluefin and their wealth management colleagues.
Marlene Shalton and Julie Lord were principals of high-profile Cardiff-based financial planning firms Chambers Morgan James and Cavendish Financial Management before they were acquired by Thinc Group in November 2007. Since integration, the duo has helped improve turnover and increase assets under management. Earlier this month Thinc Group was rebranded together with other financial services businesses to form Bluefin Advisory Services Limited.
On receiving the award, Marlene Shalton comments: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. Less than one month old, this is Bluefin’s first award and is recognition of the successful integration of our two companies over the past year and becoming part of Bluefin.”
Julie Lord adds: “This award is an endorsement of the fact that working on a fee basis and recognising the importance of focussing everything round the client’s needs pays off. You will see from our figures that, irrespective of an economic downturn, we have not lost any profitability, clients or money. This is further recognition of the fact that the business model we run is very sound and we will carry that forward within Bluefin.”
