Award in Pension Trusteeship (Defined Benefit & Defined Contribution)
A two-day residential training course specifically for trustees who wish to sit the PMI Award in Pension Trusteeship (Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution) examination.
The Award in Pension Trusteeship gives formal recognition of a trustee's knowledge of pensions fundamentals. A further level of knowledge of alternative pensions arrangements available to employees is also required. Knowledge is assessed by way of a multiple-choice examination. The training also provides an understanding of the techniques associated with passing this particular examination.
The main subject areas of the certificate are:
- Unit 1: Law and Pensions Overview
- Unit 2: Investment and Funding issues for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pensions
- Unit 3: Scheme Management issues for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pensions
Our intention is to prepare trustees to sit the PMI Award in Pension Trusteeship exam, which can be taken on the second day of the course or as a public examination in either spring, summer or autumn. To view the syllabus, please click here.
Our PMI Trustee Certificate training includes all training materials, examination entry fee, overnight accommodation, plus all meals and refreshments.
In addition, we provide regular training on topical issues in conjunction with clients' trustees meetings, to assist trustees with their obligation to keep their knowledge up to date. Current issues covered include the many Codes of Practice issued by the Pensions Regulator and the operation of the Pension Protection Fund risk-based levy. Details are available on request.
